Cedric smiles one of his dazzling smiles.
It was starting to get a little uncomfortable, because of the silence...
"So, did you have a good summer?" He asked, hoping they could find more to talk about.

Draco was looking for a compartment, and saw one with Parvati near one, and a cut appearing on her face. Draco snickered and approached the compartment seeing Pansy sitting in it. He smiled at her and went to open the door but it was locked. He looked at the door and frowned and tried to open it again. It wouldn't budge. Draco got out his wand and unlocked the door.
Draco smiled at Pansy "Why did you lock the door?" he asked as he went to sit next to her, "What did that Parvati girl do anyway?" he looked at the girl and snickered then turned back to Pansy.

"Oh No"
She figured she'd get Pansy back later.

Isabella hopped onto the train and looked for a compartment. She saw one with people she recognized from her house and a few from another house and opened the door "I hope you don't mind?" she asked looking at them, her cheeks going red

Stella got onto the train, walking past different compartments - all of them seemed crowded.
She was late, all because she wanted to avoid her stupid older brother.
As she walks past the compartments, she heard his voice and groand, picking up her pace - hoping he didn't notice her.
Suddenly, she thought she saw something at the corner of her eye, and walked a couple of steps back.
Cedric... Her heart beat frantically, and she thought it might pop out any second.
She slipped open the door, glaring at the two older students along with him.
"Hey Cedric! How was summer!" She asked, sitting down next to him, not even bothering to ask if she could.

And turned to Cho, giving Cedric a quick glance

Cedric frowned.
"Hi Stella... Summer was ok, thanks for asking. How was yours?"
He looked at Stella, she seemed to have grown over summer, looking a little more like Oliver now.
"Where's your brother?" He added. He really wanted to speak with Oliver, seeing as he just was made Quidditch Captain,
thinking that Oliver could give him some pointers.

Stella rolled her eyes and ignored the question about Oliver - then she went on about her crazy brother and all his Quidditching,
and her vacation to Wales - where she saw dragons.
She had been to a consert, watching the Weird Sisters, and had quite an eventful summer.
She knew that most people were talking to her because of her handsome brother,
but she didn't let it get to her. Well, not always.
"...and also Congrats on becoming our houses Captain!" Stella pulled Cedric into a hug.
"We're totally winning the cup this year!"
She giggeled when Cedric blushed.

Stella turned to look at Cho and Isabella. She felt much better now that she was sitting next to Cedric,
watching his warm smile - and nice grey eyes.
"Who are you?" She asked politly.

Wow, when she starts talking, there is really nothing shutting her up... Cedric thought,
trying to keep track while she was talking, saying "yes" "hmm" and "really?" in all the right places.
He forced a smile when she hugged him, but quickly pulled her away.

Cedric answered before Stella could get irritated about Isabella mentioning Oliver.
He knew Stella good enough to know that she hated that.
"Yes, she is. She's a Huffie - like me." Cedric smiled, then rolled his eyes when
Stella nearly beamed in pride.

She was amused on the look of Cedric as Stella talked to him. It looked as though he didn't care that much, but was polite enough to listen to her.
Isabella chuckled lightly, about the comment of Stella being a Hufflepuff, but she bit her lip and looked away to stop.
"Looks like to me, you have quiet an admirer there Cedric. Isn't Oliver a Gryffindor?"

Cedric gasped as he heard Isabella make the statement about Stella being an admirer, and Oliver being a Gryffindor.
He knew from the conversations he had with her (whom he usually tried to avoid) that she hated being compared to his brother.
Cedric raised his eyebrows, and was about to reply, but Stella interrupted him.

Stella drew her breath to yell at Isabella, and glared at her.
This was exactly the kind of things that made her hate her brother.
Well, no, she didn't hate him. He was great - but - she hated always being compared to him, they were nothing alike.
"Oliver being a Gryffindor dosen't automatically make me one!
Oh my pretty Captain Gryffindor brother! I tell you what! I would be BETTER OFF without him!"
Stella felt tears building up in her eyes.
AND WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU LOOKING AT!" She shouted at Cho.
She hid her face in her hands, and felt bad about all the things she had said about her brother.
Cedric placed his hand on her shoulder, then stroked her hair.
"You wouldn't be better off without Oliver... just like he wouldn't be better off without you."
Cedric said, his voice calm and comforting - knowing exactly how to work his magic to calm her down.

Cho sat there furious that this stupid little Huff-puff second year was talking up alll the talking space. And she wouldn't shut up. She gave Isabelle a look that said "talk to me later." Before getting up and hurrying out of the compartment.

Cedric looked up to see Cho leave, it was probably for the better, with the ticking bomb treatening to go off any minute,
recharching it self only to go off again.
"I'm really sorry..." Cedric whispered, looking at Isabella.
He knew that Stella would think the words were for her.
Stella sniffed against his shoulder, and Cedric could feel the warmth leave his face and his skin go white.
His eyes widened with terror.
"Oh no Stella..." He whispered, gently pushing her away to look at her face.
"Don't cry..."

Isabella sat, shocked at what Stella was saying "Oh, I'm sorry. I-I meant it nothing of the sort... I was merely asking" she said quietly.
She looked at Cedric "He's right. You don't really mean that about Oliver. Oh, I'm sorry" her face redden as felt like an idiot.

She saw the look at Cedric's face, and could tell that Stella was crying. Isabella sat there, not knowing what to do. It was her fault, making Stella upset. Isabella had already apologized, there was no use saying it again. She watched them both, hoping Stella would stop crying.

Stella sniffed, and dried away her tears. She was too embarrased to look at Isabella now,
and had a hard time taking her eyes of Cedric. The way he looked at her, those usually warm eyes now as cold as steel...
She knew she had to apologize.
"I'm," she stuttered "sorry..." She was looking at Cedric, but turned to look at Isabellas feet.

Cedric shook his head, knowing that Stella probably wouldn't give Isabella a better excuse.
But atleast she had excused. Cedric forced himself to smile at Stella, and ran his fingers through his hair.
"Are you ok?" He asked Isabella, moving to where Cho sat, ignoring Stella who rolled her eyes.

She looked at Stella "Are you alright? I didn't mean for this to happen..." She wasn't sure if she should had said anything more incase it ended up in more shouting.

"Sure" Stella muttered - finding it hard not to go off at Isabella again.
Now Ceds was sitting next to her - and she hated that. The memories of Cedrics calm voice last year still echoed in her head...
You're too young Stella.... But he had smiled, and she decided not to give up.
She looked at Cedric, and his puppy dog eyes. Gosh, who can resist those? She thought.
"I'll go out, find Oliver or something..." She said and got up - trying not to glare at Isabella.
"I'll be back though!" She added, and smiled at Cedric before she walked out of the compartment.

"Indeed, but at least she didn't go off on one again ..." she looked into his eyes and then smiled. He looked cute when he blushed, but it didn't beat that dazzling smile.
She didn't realize how long she was looking at him "Um..." she looked away "Sorry"

She wasn't sure what to say "Um, how was your summer" she just felt awkward, looking at him like that.

Cedric frowned. "Why are you sorry? It's not your fault."
His frown turned into a smile when he told her the story about his summer;
Amos had bought a golden snitch, practising whenever he had time avaliable -
they didn't go anywhere, which was rather nice...
"...don't get me wrong, I love travelling, but I hate the stress that comes along with it.
Packing, travelling with family..."
Cedric realised he had been talking for quite some time.
"I'm sorry if I bored you with my story." He said, smiling. "How was your summer? I'm betting it was more eventful than mine"

Yes, it's your fault for being so good looking! she thought and then smiled
She listen to what he had done over his summer "Sounds eventful. And I agree about the stress. Though, I don't travel a lot. I would love to... Summer time for my father is quiet stressful for him, doing a lot of paper work. He comes home late too. Very late." she frowned "I'm not sure why though." she stopped talking about her summer, and looked down.
"Not very exciting, my holiday" or life. She looked back up at him "I'm glad yours was better than mine" she smiled. "And it's quiet cool you have a golden snitch. Must be enjoyable to play Quidditch"

Cedric felt sorry for Isabella, he knew how annoying it would be with a father that worked late hours in the minestry.
He sighed, and ran the fingers through his hair.
"What do your father work as?" He asked, hoping that she wouldn't mind the question.
"And yes - quidditch..." Cedric begun, smiling. "I feel free when I'm flying. Not that I usually feel caged, but... It's like - you can let all your troubles go..."
Just like sitting here with you... he thought and blushed again.

She looked at him "My father working in the Department of Magical Accidents and Catastrophes. He never really talks about what he does in work. And sometimes, like I said, he isn't at home much..." she shrugged a little and watched his hand slid through his hair. Her eye looked don at him and smiled, and looked away still smiling.
"I wouldn't really know. For me, it's the - library and studying" she blushed, knowing she sounded like such a geek. She looked back at him "I just feel like I know that my life will turn out good, career wise. You know?"
"I bet with all them girls coming up to you, or just... doing what they do, I bet it's nice for you to escape on in the Quidditch game" she smiled.

"Minestry work tends to do that to parents - keep them away from home." Cedric said, and sighed.
"I think it's good that you set goals for yourself like that; my father tends to set most of my goals"
He raised his eyebrows as Isabella told about the girls coming up to him... or onto, more likely.
Cedric hated the fact that she had noticed - yet he didn't know why... Then he wondered why he hadn't seen her before.
Or maybe he had? He frowned, coming to think of a time he might have seen her - coming to the conclution (sp?) that he hasn't noticed her at all,
thinking that it was way weird that he didn't have - and was glad he had so now.
"Hmm yeah, Quidditch is quite an escape from things like that... until the game is over."
Because after the game most people want a piece of me, either a hug, or to kick my ass. He added mentally.

"You should be able to choose whatever path you like, as long as you're happy, your father should be too." she said, thinking that her father had never really mentioned anything about the Ministry to her - or even her mother for all she knew.
"Yes, I believe you are right. My father will spend hours away in his office space at home." she looked at the passing tree from the window "Never sharing about his work, or his day at the Ministry. It's like an unknown place to me, though I know it's there" she looked back at him "I don't know how to explain it all too well. I just feel... Distant a lot of the time with my father." she shrugged and forced a smile "I guess that's work for you". Her smile disappeared and she looked away again. Thinking of her mother. Probably home alone - Well, the acceptation of the house elf. That wasn't great company in it's self, I guess.

She smiled "And then they all come flocking over you after the game I bet, or even more when you won the game?" she blushed a little "I'm glad I'm not like them," she moved in her seat a little feeling embarrassed "because I bet you find them really annoying?"
He might not find them annoying... Pretty sure he does though. Oh Merlin, I'm sounding like I'm hopping he doesn't find me annoying, but in a question... Am I sounding hopping? Like them? ... SHHH! she blushed still and moved a little so her hair could cover her red cheeks. I feel so stupid! she thought.

"Your father never brought you to the ministry?" Cedric said, and frowned, remembering how many hours he'd spent exploring the minestry when he was a kid, because his father had to bring him to work.

Then he smiled, listening to Isabella ramble on about him being annoyed about people flocking around him.
"Yeah, it tends to be a little too much sometimes." Cedric nodded, and chuckled.
"I can handle those people though. Unfortunally, I have a couple of years of training." He frowned again, hoping he didn't sound too shallow.
Then again, I might be shallow Cedric thought, because he usually were surronded by a crowd, gossping, hanging out - telling hopeful girls he don't date...
It has been like that for as long as he could remember, he tend to draw people to him.
Weird. He thought, and wondered why.

<<Hmm, this might have turned out weird. Oh and yay! 500!>>

She shook her head "No, not once. Hardly talks about it, why would I go there?" she forced a smile, still feeling a little distant from her father. "I helped my mother around the house. We have a house elf, but mother likes to do a couple of things. Keeps her sane" she smiled and looked out of the window "The house elf is mostly my fathers, if you like." She turned back "Father takes most control of her as it were, and in my eyes, doesn't treat her all to well." Isabella shrugged "We don't speak up..." she stopped, remembering she had spoke to him about her house elf before.

"Years of training," she chuckled "you could say that. But I see what you mean to be honest." thinking that people, since she arrived at Hogwarts tend to be drawn to him. They were one year apart, but she still noticed. Being the quiet girl, she paid a lot of attention to what was around her, as no-one really saw her. She knew quite a lot of people just from being ignored and listening.
"Are you the only one in your family who draws attention to people?" she asked with a smile, her eyes giggling.

"Wow, you really haven't been to the ministry?" Cedric said, and his jaw dropped.
"I gotta take you there once - it is awesome. A bunch of hidden things, secret stuff kids aren't supposed to see. A lot of weird creatures, oh and all the muggle gear that wizard has hexed..." Cedric stopped, blushing, knowing he sounded like an excited kid.

"So, if you don't mind me asking - for how long has your house elf been in your family?"
Cedric was against elf slavery. Sure, some of the elves liked it - prefered it, and whatever - and were treated good.
However, he weren't under the impression that Isabellas father treated their house elf good at all.

Cedric blushed when Isabella asked if he were the only on in his family who draws attention to people. He looked out the window,
it was slowly getting darker - they must be close to Hogwarts soon? It was weird how fast the time seemed to go around Isabella,
and he was happy that neither Stella nor Cho has returned to the compartment.
"My father used to be quite a 'chick magnet' in school..." Cedric said, still blushing. Of course, he enjoyed it much more than I ever will. He added mentally.

"No, I haven't" she said with a smile, somewhat amused at him asking again, as well as his face. "And you would really take me?" she asked, looking at him shyly. She then smiled again "It doesn't sound bad. I thought it would be quiet a boring place. Just a place where people go to work. Desks." she clarified, knowing his father worked at a desk.
"Well, I know that may father doesn't always work within the Ministry. If something happens he's called out" she shrugged "But I really don't know what he does all too much."
Isabella looked out of the window. Green and grey streaks were passing by of what was outside. It was getting dark too; which meant they were almost at Hogwarts. Unless of course there was a storm brewing.
She was trying to think of how long the house elf had been with them. But to be honest, it wasn't all that long. Isabella turned back to Cedric "Not long really, only about 5 years. I was 9 then." she crossed her leg over the other and continued "Our previous house elf, Arland..." she then thought again, taking her eyes off of Cedric's. "Actually," she said, looking back at him "I'm not all that sure what happened to Arland. He was probably old..." she stopped taking. There was nothing much else to say about the house elves. "All I know is that he died, and we replaced him with Hathor, the house elf we have now" she gave him a little smile.
"Merlin knows what my father would do without a house elf." she rolled her eyes, then smiled at him again. "What about you - Have your family got a house elf?"

"A chick magnet?" she giggled "Oh, I'm sure he must have liked that?" It wasn't much of a question, but more of a thought which wouldn't presumed he enjoyed it.

<<So, I’m thinking we should have Dementors board the train soon>>

”Of course I would take you! I love going to muggle London – which is were we have to go to get there. And it’s not boring at all. It’s really big though – I remember getting lost in the department of magical law enforcement, all those Aurors... I was so scared! Luckily I cam across someone who knew my father… But yeah, there are a lot of desks, one just has to know where to look.” Cedric winked. “And yeah, dad get called out a lot too, being called out of his office usually means that he’ll be home late… I remember that time when a flock of Hippogriffs hunted outside a muggletown in Ireland – got rather nasty that one. They had to obliviate a lot of muggles.” Cedric wrinkeled his nose – remembering how is father was away from home for more than a week. As a kid that felt like half a lifetime. Cedric frowned when Isabella asked if his family had an house elf.
”Sort of.” He said, and tried to find a way to explain their house elf arrangement. “We have two. Leslie and Manfred. But they have been set free. I got into the history of house elves when I was a kid, actually I had them tell me – they are a couple, they’ve been in my family for some decades. I refused to eat until my parents paid them, even the elves tried to talk me out of it. It lasted two days – then my parents gave in. So, they get paid, and got their own little home in our backyard.” Cedric looked out the window, feeling somewhat silly. He didn’t know anyone else who had free, paid house elves working in their homes.
”You think I’m stupid, don’t you?” He sighed. It had started raining outside, massive drops. If it weren’t for the fact that it was cold, he would’ve expected a thunder storm. Cedric started thinking about his father, and the whole “chick magnet” deal.
”Dad liked having girls around him a lot more than I do…” He frowned and bit his lip, before he threw another look at Isabella.
No one knows. I can’t tell her, can I? I just met her.
His eyes darkened a little, as he thought about how her reaction would be. People tend to get judgmental when they heard the word “gay”. And he was expected to be perfect. Cedric sighed.

<<Aye, thats guuud Smile Even though in a thread Isabella didn't know about the Dementor incident LMAO>>

Isabella listened a little smile cracking from her lips. He seemed to really like the Ministry and he was willing to show her around. She smile grew "I know that about it, going to Muggle London. I heard father talk about that, and I also know that we don't live too far from it. But I don't know where presley it is located" She kept her eyes on him this time when he winked, which actually made her stop talking. But she then quickly continued, hoping he didn't notice too much. "That's one thing I don't know about, which almost everyone knows about" she gave a little smile from the corner of her lips, and her eyes looked away from his.
Isabella was looking at her hands, her fingers entwining with each other as she listened to Cedric's voice. She thought it was rude to look away as he talked, but every time her eyes looked at his, butterflies would dance around in her stomach. But her eyes then looked back at his, she couldn't stand looking at her hands any longer, "I remember that time when a flock of Hippogriffs hunted outside a muggletown in Ireland..." he was saying. She was watching his lips, listening.
Isabella raised her eyebrows a little "That doesn't sound good," she then smirked a little "I do wonder what the muggles thought though... Do you know how the Hippogriffs got there?"
"I don't think you're silly, no. It's really sweet actually," she smiled, thinking how cute he was as a child "getting to free your house elves who now live in a little house of they're own. And, do the elves still work for your family?" she was interested in what he had to say about his freed house elves who live in their backyard.
Isabella's eyes followed his which were looking out of the window, heavy rain drops streaking down the window. Everything was a burr. She was amazed she didn't hear the rain as they were so large. Isabella shivered. Looking out at the dark and the rain made her a cold chill run over her body.
She turned back to look at him when he started to talk again. She was wondering why he was looking so worried, stopping in the middle of his sentence. Or was that all he had to say about it. Isabella wasn't sure what to say. She looked back down at her hands then back at him "Oh, I guess it's not your cup of tea? Being annoying at all ..."
Was he hiding something? She sure felt like he was, but she pushed it aside thinking she was just presuming he was.
"Are you okay, Cedric?" she asked, lowering her head a little to look at him and shivered again. Goose bumps appeared over her skin.

Cedric blushed when Isabella said it was sweet, what he did with their house elves.
”Yeah, they still work for my family, they wouldn’t have it any other way.” He chuckled. “They just get paid, and have hours off – and such. I’ve been trying to get them to go on a holiday, but they don’t want to.” He shrugged, and noticed that Isabella shivered. The room wasn’t that cold, but for some reason she was. So he took off his jacket, got off his seat and sat down next to her – wrapping his jacket around her. He smiled, and stroked a strain of hair behind her ear. For a moment he looked into her eyes, his own burning with an intensity – but he didn’t notice, nor did he know, that Isabella had lit the fire in his eyes.

”You don’t live far from muggle London?” Cedric asked, and smiled. “If you don’t mind me asking, where exactly do you live? And yeah… the Hippogriffs…”
Cedric told how they got to that muggle town in Ireland – muggle hunters have been trying to kill extinct animals in the hippogriffs area, forcing them to break the magical barrier to get food and hide elsewhere.

It seem liked Isabella knew he wasn’t telling her something, and even if he wanted to tell her, he couldn’t bring herself to do it. He had a hard time trusting people with big secrets – and was a good keeper of secrets himself, which his crowd seemed to know and use. Most of them trusting him with family secrets, sappy love stories, using his shoulder to cry on. Not that he mind, he was happy to help… But for some reason, he wasn’t too happy to be reunited with them this year. Perhaps they had grown apart?
”Are you okay, Cedric?” Isabella asked, pulling him out of his thoughts. She shivered again, and he took hold of her hands, they were really cold. He rubbed them gently.
”Yeah – I’m g…”
The whole train shivered, and the breaks squealed.

”The train’s slowing down…” Cedric said, and sat up – his body tensing. He looked out the window. It was dark, still raining. The little drops hitting against the window. The light started flickering, frosty mist was escaping his lips.
”We’re not at Hogwarts yet.” Cedric looked at Isabella.

<<I think I’m going all Edwardy on you here, or, that’s how I see him/Rob – the fire in his eyes… I just love the way he looks sometimes, you know? >_< Sorry!>>

PostSubject: Re: The Train Ride--Harry's Third Year   Fri Jul 18, 2008 3:07 pm

Isabella listened, taking in every word he spoke. His voice delicate and calming, as if it were enchanted - he was enchanted. Well there we are, your like those girls who drool over him. Well done for accomplishing on what the people you’re not keen on do.
Her eyes looked out of the window at this thought, mostly only able to see the reflection of the compartment. The over light from the compartment giving it an unusual glow. She turned back at Cedric. “It would be nice for them to go away on holiday. But I suppose you can push them into something they do not want to do. House-elves can be quite odd I think - sometimes. But then again, that is who they are” she smiled, and thought what she had said, in her own little way, was that she was judging house-elves by how they act.
She shivered again, her skin cold to the touch and watched Cedric move out of his jacket. You can’t tell me it’s warm in here … He then stood and walked to sit next to her, placing his jacket over her.
Isabella smiled politely. “Aren’t you cold?” she asked, as he moved a piece of her hair. She grabbed the opening sides of the jacket and closed them together, keeping the cold out. Isabella could still feel the cold creeping in, but it was a little warmer - and kind of Cedric to lend her his jacket.
Isabella worried if Cedric was cold, and she looked up at him to see any hint of if he was cold. His eyes seemed to be deep into hers, she couldn’t find the will to turn away. But she did. Isabella blushed with a smile and turned away, looking at the seat were Cedric was sat.
“I live in Ewell Village.” he eyes darted back at him “I‘m not that keen on the place, but my mother grew up there and she didn‘t want to leave. Too many memories she said” Isabella shrugged “The first thing I do after Hogwarts is moving away from there” she gave a little smile.
Cedric had told her about the Hippogriffs. Listening to him she didn’t pay attention to the cold that she felt. She did of course feel warmer, but the cold was odd.
“That sounds terrible! I don‘t know how people can do that - hunting” she looked away and shook her head. “I‘m thoroughly against hunting. It’s a living creature, like us. I‘m sure they wouldn‘t like it” she took a breath and let it out slowly.
Isabella looked back up at him, and took her hands away from the jacket ready to give back to him. “Are you sure you‘re not -” she frowned seeing her own misty breath “cold?”
Still frowning she let out a breath “That’s not -” the train jolting to a halt, her hair moved over her face. She quickly swepped it away. A girl walking past their compartment fell forward but managed to grab hold of something before she felt completely to the floor.
With the look of surprise and question, Isabella turned to Cedric who was looking out of the window. Her eyes followed, but then turned to look at the light above them flicker “Cedric?” she didn’t realise she was standing to walk to the window “What’s happening?” she asked, hoping he knew as she cupped her hands to the freezing window, and lowered her head to them. Everything seemed to look normal outside, but every second the window seemed to be getting colder.
Isabella took her hands away and rubbed them to warm back up, hearing a noise to her left she looked. The window was cracking and ice seemed to be forming. She frowned and went to turn back to Cedric, but from the corner of her eye, she saw movement. What is that? she asked herself, and squinted her eyes to get a better look.
The light in the compartment flickered off, and seeing no other light shining on the outside floor she guessed everyone else's did too. The whole train was black, a couple of screams were heard, and the only light was from the moon. Isabella could see outside much more clearly now. The moon catching a shadowy figure floating slowly out by their window. The shadow like figure was covered in black torn robes which swayed in the wind, moving freely and carelessly.
The window was frosting over, but she could still see the figure. Isabella moved closer to the window, but as she did the figure turned to look at her. She jumped in fright, and clasped her hands over her mouth and let out a muffled short scream as she looked back at a faceless creature.
“Cedric!” Isabella panicked and stumbled back, her heart racing, feeling each pulse in her body pounding. Everything was dark and fear was creeping up her spine. She held her breath not able to take her eyes from it.
It looked away with no interest and continued on its path. Isabella stood, not moving and let out a breath. Her head felt dizzy from tightly holding in her breath. She felt frozen to the spot, feeling nothing.

Cedric shook his head when Isabella asked him if he was cold. He rarely froze, and sometimes he wore a jacket just for show – so everyone else wouldn’t think of him as crazy. It all came with loving winter, and snow… However, the misty breath escaping their lips implied that the room was cold, but he didn’t think of it; his body tensed in a way that alerted him. Something was up, and he could not worry about being cold. Besides, Isabella looked like she needed his jacket much more than he did.
”Cedric?” Isabella had said, and got up to walk to the window. He got up, standing right behind her – looking out at the dark eerie landscape. “What’s happening?” She asked.
”Just stay calm.” Cedric said, he knew this, knew what it was. He laid a hand on Isabella’s shoulder to calm her. At the moment, it didn’t seem like the best idea to tell her what was out there – he didn’t want to cause panic. His jaw tightened, as he watched the black shadowlike creatures approach the train in a floating manner. The lights went out, and he could hear people screaming.
Merlin, this is like a bad muggle horror movie. He thought, hating the fact that he wasn’t able to help them all.
Isabella moved closer to the window, it was crackling, being covered with frost. Even so, they could still see through it. She halfway turned towards him again, when she noticed the creatures as well. Cedric felt his heart race, he wished he could cover her eyes. She took a couple steps closer to the window.
No no no, don’t… Too late, one of them turned and looked straight at her. She jumped, and screamed. Cedric rushed forward, wrapping his arms around her protectively. He placed his cheek against hers, whispering to her.
”Dementors. Don’t worry, they won’t harm you. They are searching the train for Sirius Black. Father warned me this might happen. Please stay calm…”
Cedric felt depressed, like he had nothing left to live for. Like the word had gone bad, just in a couple of seconds. But he was expecting this, having read up on dementors, and he managed to hold his composure. He let one of the hands he held around Isabella go, and pulled out his wand – holding it to his side.
Expecto Patronum, happy memories… snow fight with Oliver… He thought – and something silvery begun crawling out the tip of his wand.
Not yet… He clenched his hand around the wand, and the silvery light went out. He raised an eyebrow, somewhat amazed that he could perform nonverbal spells under these circumstances. The one looking into their compartment continued down it’s path, and they could hear new screams. Cedric still kept his wand ready, he could see more of them out there, shadows, moving between the trees.
Isabella seemed scared to death, she was holding her breath.
”You’re doing fine,” Cedric gently rubbed his cheek against hers – her skin cold against his. “You need to remember how to breathe, or you’ll faint. Just breathe…”
He pulled her back to the seat, and sat the two of them down, keeping her close to himself – hearing new screams. A couple of dementors just moved past their door, but it didn’t seem like she had noticed. He wondered how the other students were holding up, worrying sick about the first years.
”They’ll be out of here soon.” Cedric felt his body relax, knowing his words were true. He put his wand back in his robes, and ran his hand through Isabellas hair. The lights flickered back on, and the frost was melting away from the windows.
“See, that wasn’t that bad?” He said – and grabbed hold of her shoulders, moving around her to look her into the eyes.
“I’m prefect. I gotta go check on the others. I’ll be right back, ok?” Cedric cupped her cheeks. Her face seemed to be getting the colour back.
The train started moving again. He smiled, and walked out of their compartment.

The first years seemed to be scared out of their minds, and he had a hard time comforting a bunch of girls. One of them had nearly fainted when the dementors had passed their compartment, and they all had screamed as Cedric opened their compartment door. Most of them seemed freaked. He walked past the compartment with Oliver, the Weasley twins, Johnson and Bell in it. He frowned, and wanted to open the door just to get a better look of him. They all seemed to be fine, and he couldn’t help but wonder what it would be like if he was sharing compartments with Oliver, if he would try and comfort him, seeing as he was the youngest… He got lost in his thoughts, or where they dreams? When Stella ran straight into him, making him snap to.
“Cedric!” She gasped and grabbed his arms, before she wrapped her own arms around him and pulled herself close. Cedric stumbled a couple of steps backwards.
“Stella…” Cedric said, and stroked her back. “Are you alright?”
”Now I am.” She said – hugging him a little tighter.
Cedric smiled. “You were never in any real danger. I have to get back to Isabella…” He nodded at Percy who seemed to be checking up on the students as well. He threw another look into Oliver’s compartment, it seemed like they are were looking at him – it made him blush. Then he gently pushed Stella away. Her expression was painful.
“Something wrong?” Cedric asked, and frowned.
It looked like she wanted to say something, like she would have another tantrum. But she bit her lip, swallowed hard and shook her head.
“You should change into your robes. We will arrive at Hogwarts soon.” He said and smiled again, before walking back to the compartment where Isabella was waiting.
